Personal exhibition in the Leiden Hortus Botanicus (world oldest botanical garden) for the commemoration of “400 years of the relationship between The Netherlands and Japan“. 19 sculptures in granite and marble presented in the garden during 10 months, inaugurated by the Emperor and Emperatrice of Japan and the Queen Beatrix on May 25th in Leiden.

. Exposition de groupe au salon Urbest (art urbain) à Metz, Moselle, Lorraine.
. Exposition personnelle de 19 sculptures (pendant 10 mois) dans le plus ancien jardin botanique d’Europe : «Hortus Botanicus», Leiden, Pays-Bas, d’avril à octobre, dans le cadre de la célébration des 400 ans de relations entre les Pays-Bas et le Japon. Inauguration le 25 mai, en présence de la Reine Béatrix de Hollande, de l’Empereur et de l’Impératrice du Japon.
. Exposition personnelle au Viaduc des Arts, 55 avenue Daumesnil à Paris, du 18 au 30 mai 2000.. Présente ses sculptures, peintures, dessins, maquettes et projets, dont le bronze de la maquette du projet pour la Coupe du monde de football à Niigata. Il invite Teruko Kaneko, peintre.
. Inauguration du «Parc international de sculptures» à Farum au Danemark, les 27 et 28 mai 2000, en présence de nombreux ambassadeurs.
